Wondering Which Wines Pair Best With Halloween Candy? This Mom's Got You
This is what we really need to know today.
Hilarious mom vlogger Kristina Kuzmic really knows us moms. Because she just posted a video that explains which wines pair best with Halloween candy. And it's exactly what we need as we gear up for a night of going from house, to house, to house, to house with our kiddos, collecting way too many mini-Snickers bars and Skittles bags, only to return home and be left with a giant heap of the stuff after they nod off from the excitement.
She's gone ahead and done a little taste-testing (must've been tough!), so Kuzmic really knows what she's talking about when she says Skittles pair well with a nice Sauvignon Blanc. "It's going to bring out the flavor, especially in the orange and yellow ones," she tells us.
Hmm... I'll have to try that later. Likewise, don't mind if I do test her theory that Laffy Taffy is best paired with a not-too-oaky Chardonnay. I'm not a big Nerds fan, nor do I care for Pinot Grigio, so I'll have to take Kuzmic's word for it that those two "treats" pair well. But only if the Nerds are pink. Purple Nerds and a nice Reisling are going to match up better, according to Kuzmic.
I must admit I'm a sucker for a deep, dark Cabernet, and Kuzmic says this rich wine is best served with Butterfingers. Yum. To find out what pairs best with Syrah and Pinot Noir, you'll have to watch the video.
