I never curse in front of my kids. Ha! Had you there for a second, didn't I? No, of course I drop the occasional F-bomb within earshot of my daughters, especially while driving!
That's why I had to laugh at this dad's video that shows his toddler repeating the F-word. A lot.
"As a former U.S. Marine, now a father, there is perhaps one word I should try to cut out of my vernacular around my soon to be 2-year-old," dad James LaPorta captioned the 42-second profanity-laced clip, posted to Twitter.
In the video, we hear the tot throwing F-bombs left and right, and the more LaPorta's son Joel curses, the more his facial expressions flash regret, horror and shame.
Oh, we feel you, James. As did the thousands of users who shared and liked the video. But might I offer one other possible explanation for why Joel was cursing other than just having heard bad words from his father? One day my daughter announced she was preparing "cock soup" in her play kitchen. And I can guarantee you I never say that word. Not even when she isn't around.
My husband and I deduced she had just said a word that happened to be highly inappropriate for a 2-year-old to say. Maybe that is what LaPorta's toddler was doing?
Then again, maybe not!
Has your child ever repeated bad words you regret letting fly in front of them?
