Confession: My father-daughter dance was far more emotional for me than my first dance with my husband on our wedding day. I was thrilled to be marrying my best friend, sure. But...my daddy! Did I mention we danced to "Sweet Melissa" by the Allman Brothers (my name is Melissa for those of you reading this with a kiddo dangling off of you, and/or who haven't had your coffee yet, and are failing to make the connection).
Every father-daughter dance is special, but perhaps never more so than at the Philadelphia nuptials of Lisa White and Paul Getz this past weekend. Because as Billboard.com reports, White's dad arranged for none other than country mega-star Tim McGraw to serenade their big moment in front of everyone they've ever known.
The band Jellyroll shared a video of the tender/frenzied dance on Facebook.
As you can see, McGraw sang "My Little Girl." To White's little girl. On her wedding day. Sniff. Meanwhile, as a dad of three girls, I'm guessing the star himself also felt just a teeny-bit emotional on Saturday evening.
Of course, it was kinda hard to hear the lyrics in the song through the screams of excitement from the guests.
Similarly, it isn't easy to see the star through the wall of iPhones in this clip posted to Instagram, but take a look at another moment when McGraw sang "Live Like You Were Dying."
Clearly this is a night the bride, her daddy, and every guest in attendance won't soon forget! Congrats to the happy couple!
