This 'Stressed Out' Mom Music Parody Is Our New Anthem
Laughing Moms' new music parody video of "Stressed Out" by Twenty One Pilots nails the trials of motherhood.
If you're a mom, the new video parody of the Twenty One Pilots song "Stressed Out" will have you cracking up.
The video, which was created by two hilarious mamas who go by the name Laughing Moms, opens with a gaggle of kids riding bikes down the street and a mom chasing after them, waving her arm in desperation, with another child on her hip. Then we see another all-too-familiar scene: a mom trying to have a phone conversation while her son talks at her and flails his hands in her face.
Throughout the video, we are taken through a series of relatable "mom fail" moments, like when she drops her brood off for school late and when she falls asleep on the couch only to be turned into graffiti art by her kids.
But while this parody is about moms, it is sung by their kids and told from their perspective. Here's a sample lyric: "I drew on mommy's face with semi-permanent ink." And these ladies actually let their kids draw on their faces for the sake of their art! For that alone, I am super impressed. And I'm smiling from ear-to-ear. Because that's just wrong, man.
In another scene, the kids croon, "Mom says go to sleep 'cuz we stress her out," as they fight their mother's attempts to get them to go to bed for the night. Yup, been there.
"Sometimes a certain thing will make my mom lose her mind," the kids continue. Wait, are they singing this about me?!
Another stressful moment moms will recognize is the last-minute school project you child conveniently forgot to tell you about. Or how about when you kiddo tells you she needs 100 gluten-free cupcakes for the next morning?
"Wake up, you need to make breakfast!" the kids proclaim in another scene. And sleeping in on the weekends? Not gonna happen. "First I have a birthday party, and then a soccer game," the lyrics explain.
From beginning to end, this parody is spot on. Well done, mamas!
