The Internet has gone photo-shop crazy with this photo of a little girl fleeing from a peacock.

One time when she was little, we took our daughter to the aquarium, where she proceeded to run screaming away from a tank full of sharks as if one was about to jump out and enjoy her as a mid-morning snack. We still can't even get her to look at a great white to this day.

It's one of those stories that we love to tell. But it's nothing compared to Reddit user bwaxse, who took his daughter to a petting zoo over the weekend, where she apparently freaked out at the sight of a peacock.

Her dad decided to share a pic of the encounter-gone-wrong on Reddit, along with the caption: "Our trip to the petting zoo did not go as planned."

An understatement, of course. Because in the shot, his horrified little girl is furiously fleeing the scene as the colorful bird proudly flashes his feathers.

The perfectly-captured moment quickly become the most popular photo on the site, sparking a Photoshop Battle in the comments section, as Redditt users co-opted the image to showcase the frightened child in a number of awesome scenarios—like pulling away from a pack of Olympic runners...

Bolting from the cops:

Fleeing the scene of a car-totalling T-Rex:

And transforming into the newest Avenger, "Lil Screamer":

Turns out, she also makes a pretty bada*s little warrior.

Even Forrest Gump, Peter Dinklage riding a scooter, and Captain Jack Sparrow showed up on the scene.

Run, girl, runnnnn!

But our absolute fave creation has got to be this one, where the savvy girl turns the tables on the little guy and takes off with his wings:

The best part about the whole thing, though, has got to be the irony of the little girl's T-shirt which reads "Friends are like treasures."

Of course, while it's easy to find the humor in other people's misfortune, my own kid would kill me if I ever posted an image like this of her, let alone one that then went on to become a meme.

Amusing or out of line—what's your take?
