This Dad Just Showed Some Major Love to the Parents of Twins at the Airport

Parenting is hard, and we should all stop and give each other props more often.

Flying with kids is hard. But flying with twins in tow is even harder. Which is why when dad Clint Edwards spotted two parents crushing the game at a Spokane, Washington airport he decided to snap a quick pic and give them a shoutout on his Facebook page.

"This is one of the few times I've traveled without kids in the past few years, and so I'm taking it in. But I can't help but notice this couple," he wrote in his now-viral post. "I've watched them for awhile. I hope they don't mind me posting this, but these two deserve to be noticed because they are parenting champs. They have two small children, possibly twins. One is crying, and the mother is giving the baby comfort. The other needed a diaper change, so the dad is diving in. He didn't hesitate. Before that, both kids waddled off into the restaurant. The mother caught them, while the dad was busy breaking down the stroller. They look a little frazzled. Their flight is about to leave. But they are handling it. This is what parenting looks like."

Edwards is so right—this is parenting in the trenches, folks. And mad props to the dad-of-three for showing this couple some love. Because it's during stressful times like this one that most of us could use a little support, and yet sadly, the moments usually go unnoticed. But not this time.

"If you two are out there, reading this, I want you to know that you are kicking ass," Edwards continued. "Taking kids to the airport sucks so bad, and yet you are working as a team. As parents, I think it's good to hear that you are doing something right. And nothing can feel more wrong than taking small kids to the airport, or out to dinner, or to the mall, or to any other number of stressful parenting situations. And in that moment, when you're knee deep in a steaming hot public toddler meltdown, it can feel like you are failing. But you know what, you're not. If you are there, and you are caring for your children, you are doing exactly what you should."

Ok, This guy is totally my new hero—I mean, what an incredible endorsement! With so much parent-shaming and negativity swirling around the interwebs these days, it's so nice to see someone point out something positive for a change. And here's the best part, the mom in the picture—Christie Bienemann of Burlingame, California—actually got to read Edwards' kind words!

"Thank you for the post!" she wrote in the comment section. "This was my husband and I with our almost 14-month-old twins! Traveling with little ones is definitely NOT easy and we were pretty exhausted, not gonna lie! Appreciate the encouragement!"
