A terminally ill 5-year-old girl just had her dream "wedding" where she vowed to be "friends forever" with her best friend in front of a room full of superheros and princesses.
Five-year-old Eileidh Paterson has been battling against neuroblastoma since she was first diagnosed back in May 2014. Unfortunately, Eileidh's oncologist recently told her family that their little girl will not survive long-term.
"Even if they manage to get rid of the tumors, they will grow back again but quicker and more aggressively," her mom Gail explained on Eiledh's Go Fund Me page. "There are few treatment options left for her when that happens."
So, so sad. Which is why Gail says she wants her remaining time with Eileidh to be as special as possible.
"Eileidh deserves to have the world & if we can give her a fraction of that, then we will," she writes. "She has spent the majority of nearly 3 years in hospital, at appointments, given countless toxic chemotherapies, scans, cannulas, hickman lines, surgeries, anaesthetics, blood tests.... the list is endless. Anything we can do to make her life that little bit easier, comfier & most importantly magical, then we owe that to her. Whether it's decorating her bedroom bright pink (her favourite colour), a TV for her room so she can stay in bed when she's poorly, a trip to the zoo, or taking her to Disneyland Paris (since Tigger didn't sign her book), it would mean the world to us."
Eileidh's already been able to meet mermaids and go for a swim with them. And most recently, the adorbale little girl was able to cross off the No. 1 item on her bucket list—to "marry" her 6-year-old bestie Harrison Grier:
So sweet! Eileidh's older brother Callum walked the tiny princess down the aisle to the Disney song, "When You Wish Upon a Star."
Then she and Harrison (who was escorted by none other than the Fairy Godmother herself) vowed to be "friends forever" in front of a crowd of about 30 loved ones that included Iron Man, Batman, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Wonder Woman:
Later, Eileidh put on her blinged-out dancing shoes in order to celebrate with 200 guests at a reception complete with face painting, tattoos, a candy buffet, and a seriously BA superhero cake:
Talk about a day filled with magical moments!
