The Rock Singing a 'Moana' Song by Lin-Manuel Miranda Just Made Our Day
Is there anything Dwayne Johnson can't do?
Who knew The Rock could sing? Well, it seems Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Broadway's "Hamilton," did. Because Dwayne Johnson, who voices a character in the new Disney animated princess film, "Moana," recently released the first clip of himself crooning a Miranda-written song from the movie, via his Instagram account. And his performance is as solid as a rock!
Just watch, and I think you will agree. And in that case, "You're welcome!"
Indeed, I was pretty impressed with Johnson's pipes. Once he gets going with the tune, it becomes clear he isn't just a hack. Even though, according to Hello Giggles, The Rock has not performed a song in a movie until now.
But I also didn't know Kristen Bell could sing before "Frozen," and damn, mama! I am hard-pressed to think of a better performance than hers as Anna. We may soon think of Johnson in much the same way as we regard Bell.

Meanwhile, I think it is beyond adorable that now that Johnson is a dad he is doing a Disney movie. Because I'm thinking his daughter Jasmine might be a little more into "Moana" than "Furious 7." But that is just total conjecture. Maybe she absolutely loves action-packed car chase movies...
Either way, Jasmine, your energetic daddy's singing talent will now be known outside of your nursery!
What do you think of Johnson's singing abilities in this new clip?
