See the Top 5 Names for Crayola's New Blue Crayon -- You Can Vote for Your Fave!
Crayola's newest crayon is inspired by a blue pigment discovered at Oregon University. Starting on July 1, you can vote for your favorite crayon name!
Crayola decided on the five names based on their creativity, uniqueness, and ability to "capture the spirit and innovation of this new-to-the-world blue."
Beginning today, July 1, 2017, crayon lovers in the U.S. and Canada can vote on these five names at Crayola.com/NewColor. Voting goes through August 31, and for the two months that the contest is live, you can watch the daily voting results in real-time on the website. Voters get a chance to win one of six grand prizes of an all-expense paid trip for four to the Orlando Crayola Experience and a daily prize of the award-winning Crayola Air Marker Sprayer. In early September, Crayola will announce the new crayon's name and grand prize winners, and come late 2017-early 2018, you'll start seeing the pretty new color in Crayola products.

“Blue is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, expansiveness, inspiration and sensitivity,” said Subramanian, the Milton Harris Chair of Materials Science, said in an OSU statement. “Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, heaven and intelligence. We could not imagine a better partner than Crayola, a brand synonymous with color and creativity, to help us share this discovery with the world.” Very cool! Can't wait to have see which crayon name makes the final cut.
