We've all attended or thrown our fair share of baby showers or first birthday parties, but Kimberly Hemperly, a mom of two from Washington state, might be inspiring a whole new trend: the "Balls Voyage" party! Hemperly is making headlines after taking to Facebook to share photos from her recent bash to celebrate her husband's vasectomy.

The hilarious mama first saw the concept on TV. "I was inspired initially by the Real Housewives of the OC," she tells Parents.com. "One of the wives threw her husband a 'balls voyage' party, however hers was on a yacht with a ton of booze. I didn't have those luxuries so I came up with my own celebration!"

She then took to Facebook to document the momentous, hilarious occasion, which included "balls/sausage-related food," a cake with a sperm headstone and "snip snap" commentary on top, a "retirement" shirt for her husband, and "swim team survivor" shirts for their two children. "We have an announcement to make! We are thrilled to say we will NOT be adding anymore tiny humans to our family!" she wrote. "My husband is taking one for the team and to celebrate this momentous occasion I felt the need to throw him a little 'Balls Voyage' party for his upcoming procedure. Because omg y'all, nobody is more excited about this than me."

"I threw the party in support and appreciation of my husband for going under the knife, so I wouldn't have to," Hemperly tells Parents.com. "I've had 2 C-sections, the most recent this past July, and he offered to have the procedure done, so I wouldn't have to have yet another surgery."

While most reactions to Hemperly's post has been positive, from people who found humor in the story, which Hemperly says she was "going for to begin with." But she told PopSugar that there were some negative reactions: "Since the post has gone 'viral' so many are quick to judge, and be spiteful," Hemperly noted. "I just wanted to show my husband some support for doing something so selfless and caring for his wife."

More power to this funny mom! Not only is it awesome that she wanted to honor her husband for doing his part for the health and well-being of their family, but being able to plan the family that suits you best is certainly something to celebrate!
