A 9-year-old named Jacob Thompson is fighting Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma, and back in October, his doctors said he likely only had a month to live. So, the little boy's wish is to celebrate Christmas early with his family. In addition, he asked that people celebrate with him by sending cards, his mom Michelle Simard told CNN. Just five days after announcing his wish, he received over 100 cards from people all over the world!
On Thursday, November 2, Simard took to Facebook, writing, "The first cards have streamed in!"
"We got over a hundred, and they're from all over the world. We have some from the Netherlands, from Australia, from Denmark," his stepmom Tara Artinyan shared with CNN. "We've heard from all over the world at this point. We've even heard from Antarctica."
Celebrities like Anna Kendrick, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jake Tapper have gotten on-board to send holiday greetings Jacob's way.
The cast and crew of Code Black made a video wishing Jacob a "Merry Christmas!"
Meanwhile, Shutterfly is helping the cause by offering the chance for people to make a free card using the code “CARD4JACOB.” The cards can be created here through November 12th and can be mailed to the following address:
