All hail Kristen Bell, who has solved a common mom problem: Keeping kids safe when you're unloading the car and your arms are full.

There can be no greater panicky-mom moment than when your kids are unrestrained by your vehicle as you either load or unload various cargo—groceries, bikes, a younger child.

I find myself frantically telling my three girls, "Stay near Mommy!" a hundred times as cars whiz by. But now star mom Kristen Bell has pretty much rocked my world with her brilliant hack for keeping her young kiddos nearby, and out of harm's way, in this potentially scary situation.

Bell—who shares daughters Lincoln, age 4, and Delta, age 2, with husband Dax Shepard—recently shared a photo on Instagram along with an explanation of her "hands on the circle" trick.

"The phrase we say as we jump out of the car. 'Hands on the circle' (the circle is the gas cap) was invented by my brilliant sister in law, and has thus far kept all kiddos safe from any oncoming traffic while I unload the trunk," Bell captioned the image of two little hands affixed to her car's gas cap.

I love this idea; my only problem is that I'll soon have four kids, and the circle is kind of small for that many hands. What I have previously told my children—but somehow forgot about lately (blame pregnancy brain!)—is, "hands on Mommy."

This is a great reminder that having just a simple plan for keeping kids close in a parking lot or on a busy street sure beats mom panic mode!
