Joey Feek's Daughter Says 'Mama' for the First Time, Melts Our Hearts
Feek's husband Rory posted the adorable video of Indiana's first words to Instagram.
Rory Feek just posted the most adorable video to Instagram of his 2-year-old daughter Indiana saying some of her very first words without signing!
In the clip, Rory, 49, asks the little girl to repeat after him, saying "mama," and then "dada," and then "lala"—all of which she sails through easily, an impressive feat for the little girl who was born with Down syndrome.
Mama, of course, is country singer Joey Feek, 40, who was diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer in 2014 and entered hospice care last November. But being bedridden hasn't stopped the proud mama from taking care of things around her house. Rory also shared a photo on Instagram of Joey preparing Sunday dinner for her family at her bedside, surrounded by cutting boards and rolling tables topped with vegetables, breadcrumbs, mixing bowls, an egg, and a Cuisinart.
"When a mother can't get to the kitchen, but wants so much to help make her family dinner..." he wrote. "You bring the kitchen to mama."
What an incredibly amazing woman! Her strength is truly inspiring. And sometimes, small miracles do happen: Joey prayed that she would live long enough to see Indy celebrate her second birthday. And on February 17, she did just that.
"Some birthdays are more than just birthdays," wrote Joey in the caption of a pic of Joey smiling and holding hands with her little b-day girl. "They're dreams coming true and prayers being answered."
