When the actress mama was making the interview rounds earlier this month while promoting her new children’s book Marge in Charge, interviewers were quick to inquire about her best kids-raising tips. But while Fisher loves being a mom, she told Today that she’d rather stay mum.

“I try not to get involved and stand on a soapbox and advise anyone how to do anything,” she said. “I don’t want to come out publicly and give advice about mothering. Everyone is doing their best”

While it’s kind of a bummer because we’d love to hear this funny mama’s parenting hacks for handling her trio of kiddos, we can't really blame her for being hesitant to speak up, given the rampant celebrity mom-shaming that goes on these days.

Still, Fisher did manage to share one great tip for busy moms-on-the-go trying to carve out time for work.

“A lot of my writing is done on my iPhone,” she explained. “I have a dictaphone. It’s usually on the way to school and during naptime.”

So brilliant! What do you think—would you try it?
