Is Busy Philipps Suffering From Mom-Shoulder Syndrome?
On my way down the stairs this morning, I carried a basket of laundry, the vacuum, one of my girl's backpacks, a bottle of water, my purse, a coat, and at least one or two assorted other items I can't even remember. That's why I wasn't at all surprised to come across actress and mom Busy Philipps' Instagram post about the cause of her persistent shoulder pain.
"I'm getting an MRI on my right shoulder tomorrow because I've been having so much pain for the last several months. Everyone has been asking how I injured it and I don't have a good answer," the actress wrote. "BUT THEN I JUST CAUGHT MY REFLECTION WALKING UP TO MY HOUSE. I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS. I'M A MOM."
Philipps, whose daughters, Birdie, age 8, and Cricket, age 3, clearly keep her as strapped (get it?) as my three girls do, certainly wouldn't be the first mama to suffer from child-rearing-related pain.
I'm pretty sure my back hasn't not hurt a day in my life since I became a mom. Scratch that; since I got pregnant for the first time. Because I'm always carrying something...or someone. And many times, I'm shouldering (I can't stop) the weight of a kid, plus their stuff and my stuff.
