The Grammy-winner confesses she's got some major mom guilt, which only makes us love her more!
Kelly Clarkson certainly has her hands full these days. Not only is the Grammy-winner killing it with a hit singing career, but she's just released her first children's book while simultaneously raising two kids under 3—daughter River Rose, 2, and son Remington, almost 7 months—and two additional kids from her husband's first marriage, both of whom are home-schooled.
Is it really any wonder this hard-working mama sometimes finds herself just a teensy bit overwhelmed?
"There are days where sh*t hits the fan, and I'm crying because there's not enough time to do everything," she revealed to People during the recent S.H.E. Summit in NYC. "But that's any mom. It's a hard thing to take care of children. You're molding lives. You don't want to suck at it."
The key to keeping it all together, Clarkson says, is learning how to juggle. "I think it's really important, not only for my little girl [but our other children too], to see that a woman is capable of kicking ass while also being a kickass mom," she explained."I'm not going to B.S. you. There are days when I cry and I don't know if I can handle all this or get it all done or juggle. But at the end of the day, like 99 percent of the time, it's awesome and it's worth it."
Even so, Clarkson admitted that she struggles with mom guilt on the regular. "If you're a mom, you want to be with your kid every day," she said. "You don't want to miss a moment and you want her to need you and want you and not want somebody else. I definitely feel mom guilt a lot. I think every good mom does, right? My mom didn't have help and I have help. I feel like, 'Why can't I do it all?' But you can't. That's dumb."
