Who wouldn't want to hang out with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard? The parents of two might just be one of the most lovable, hilarious celeb couples in all of Hollywood. And that's why clearly, they're going to get a ton of entries for their new fundraiser. On behalf of Opening Act, an organization which "seeks to level the playing field for students attending New York City’s most under-served public high schools by offering students opportunities to develop leadership, community and commitment through its innovative, high quality, free theater programming," Kristen and Dax will hang with one lucky "guest of honor" during a holiday-themed date night. Might that evening include caroling goofy renditions of classic Christmas tunes, swigging egg nog, and laughing a lot? Quite possibly!
Kristen took to Instagram to tease the contest, writing, "We bring a lot of game. Think you can handle it? Support the incredible work of Opening Act and enter to join us for a night of games, cookies and matching sweaters. ENTER through my bio link or at omaze.com/gamenight."
She also shared a video about it on November 16.
According to Omaze.com, the winner will get to "be Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s guest of honor at their double date game night, "dress up in matching holiday sweaters, get cozy and bake cookies," and "get flown out to LA and put up in a 4-star hotel." Sweet!
And as if that wasn't cool enough, donating to Opening Act is a worthwhile endeavor all its own. Omaze notes that the organization is "currently offered at 51 schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx, Opening Act’s year-long After School Theater Program teaches improvisation, acting technique and writing exercises. The program culminates in an original production created, written and performed by the students in a professional theater. The program provides a safe, inclusive and supportive environment so that their students feel empowered to share their stories." In short, Opening Act gives kids who attend NYC's most under-served public schools get the opportunity a shot at bolstering their confidence, pride, and knowledge.
Here's the breakdown of what various levels of support fund:
• $25 - supports an Opening Act student for one workshop• $50 - supports an Opening Act student for three workshops• $100 - supports an Opening Act student for six workshops• $1,000 - supports two Opening Act students for a full year
Seems like even if you don't end up hanging out and drinking egg nog with Kristen and Dax, entering this philanthrophic contest would be a win-win!
