Thank you to "Nashville" actress Hayden Panettiere for always keeping it real when it comes to motherhood. The 27-year-old has been beyond open and honest about her struggles with postpartum depression after welcoming now 2-year-old daughter Kaya Evdokia with partner Wladimir Klitschko. And now, in one Twitter post, Panettiere has proven that all moms, even those who walk the red carpet, have their "in the trenches" moments.
The star recently shared a photo of herself and Kaya bending down to clean up a potty accident in a tiny, cramped airplane bathroom, of all places.
I love how Panettiere manages to find the silver lining in this icky situation, tweeting that at least her adorable toddler was helping her mommy clean up.
But more than anything, it's nice to know that even an A-list actress has to deal with these far-from-glamorous incidents. I'm reminded of the time my 1-year-old puked all over me during a flight to visit my parents, and I basically went to the bathroom the second we landed and threw away most of my clothes. I just couldn't stand the smell another second, even if I was being rather wasteful.
Did I mention Natalie Morales was in the restroom at the time? Ugh! I remember thinking that here I was, a gross puked-on mom, and there she was, all perfect and starry. But looking back, I'm betting that Morales, who is also a parent, has been in the trenches plenty of times in her life. Just like me. Just like Hayden Panettiere.
