Here's a dose of nostalgia that'll appeal to your and your kids: The Sesame Street cast took on a parody of some '80s hits, and it's kind of amazing.
Have you ever wished you could introduce your kids to the music you loved while growing up in the ‘80s? If so, here’s the perfect opportunity.
Sesame Street just released a parody of some epic '80's music hits, and it's such a fun trip down memory lane. The characters you probably grew up loving as a child—like Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster—jam out to the songs that hold so many memories. It's the perfectly nostalgic way to relive your youth and enjoy something that's new and fun for your kids alongside them.
Speaking of the songs, here are a few you can expect to hear parodied in this delightful video: There's "Come on Eileen," "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "Don't Stop Believing," and "Footloose," to name a few. Obviously, the characters make some clever changes to the lyrics, but the nostalgia factor is still very much intact—including some vintage fashions.
Viewers are loving the video as much as we are. "You have done it again Sesame Street. After watching this on the morning news [I} just had to see it again. This parody has bitten the dust :) #Rickroll," one commenter wrote. Another added: "Okay, I absolutely LOVE THIS!! The shoutout to the '80s music is a great touch, since it was my favorite time in music. I did prefer 'lesser-known' acts, ones that didn't get much attention, but this was absolutely one of the best sketches I've seen from the Street in quite some time!"
Will you be watching this with your little ones?
