Ever wonder what would happen if Tim Burton got his hands on some of our favorite wholesome Disney characters?
LA-based illustrator Andrew Tarusov did. So the artist created a 10-piece collection, called What If Tim Burton Directed Classic Disney Movies?
"I love how Burton's style looks vintage, chic, and cute all at the same time," Taruson told HelloGiggles. "His work is often marketed as 'horror' movies, but at the same time, it's not a horror...It could be any genre."
The series features 10 of Disney's most beloved classic fairy tales, with a cool-but-creepy Tim Burton twist.
First up: Everybody's favorite white-tailed deer.
"First one was Bambi," Tarusov told Refinery29. "I drew him fast and easily, and after it, the whole idea came up."
Also featured in the collection are Snow White, Pinocchio, 101 Dalmations, Dumbo, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Beauty & The Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and Aladdin—the latter of which he said took him two tries to get right.
Tarusov creates his illustrations—which he says are meant to be fun and whimsical— with pencil and paper, then colors them in using Photoshop on his computer. And our hands-down fave is this image of Pinocchio holding a Burton-ized version of Jimminy Cricket:
Tarusov posted the collection to his Facebook page, where his dark take on Disney has already scored more than 18,000 likes.
"They all look as though they have just seen, a (Tim Burton) film, for the first time... Lol," joked one commenter.
"Now I want Tim Burton to actually go and make all of these movies!" added another.
