A photo of a Texas father and his son walking together on the boy's first day of kindergarten, and then on his first day of college, is going viral. Because, gut punch. Kids do grow up way too fast. Sob.

The son, Charles Brockman III, posted side-by-side images of him and his dad, Charles Brockman II, on his first day of school ever, and then recently, as he walked into Mississippi State to start college. In both photos, Brockman's dad looks about the same. It's that he went from being a little boy, to a grown man, that just conjures up all the feels.

"It was sad for me, just knowing that time had flown by so fast," the dad told InsideEdition.com about the Twitter post that has garnered more than 274,000 likes at time of writing.

Meanwhile, his son said, "I really loved seeing the nice comments. It made me feel really happy to see I could brighten somebody's day with that tweet."

Indeed, some commenters shared their own side-by-side images like Brockman's. Others simply expressed how uplifting the image was.

I'm a little sad over here, though! I so relate to the dad, because my girls are growing up way too quickly. It feels like just yesterday they were born, and now my oldest is about to start the fourth grade. I know that all too soon, I'll turn around and be in Brockman's shoes, walking her into her college dorm. Someone hold me!
