Meghan Markle Wore a Wedding Dress Made Especially for Her Baby Bump
She paired it with a Princess Diana memento from her actual wedding day.
In a year of multiple royal weddings, we never want the princess bridal wear trend to end. And Meghan Markle seems to agree.
The Duchess of Sussex tied the knot with Prince Harry back in May, but she hasn't shied away from recreating her big day's look with a collection of similar cuts and colors in her wardrobe. She did it yet again during a formal occasion while on her first royal tour, this time in a cap-sleeve silk wedding dress by Theia that contains parallels to her actual wedding gown.
Theia is a bridal wear label, and its team had to reconfigure the dress at the last minute to add seam allowance because of Markle's pregnancy. In a release given to InStyle, the brand's creative director Don O’Neill explained the process.
“We needed to remake it with extra seam allowance,” O’Neill said. “We knew immediately why this extra allowance was required, but mum’s the word, and with less than one week to my bridal show, all hands were on deck once more.”
“We re-made the gown and I literally had to run down Broadway that Friday night to catch the UPS truck, making it with just two minutes to spare!”

People reports that the ring was originally a gift for Diana to wear in place of her engagement ring after divorcing Harry's dad Prince Charles.
The outlet added that Diana was given the ring by a friend.
If this bling looks familiar on Markle's hand, you're absolutely right. Markle wore the ring during her wedding reception, so essentially her formal white outfit had at least two direct ties to her wedding day.
It seems she's found a color that works for her. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
