Here's everything you need to know about the recall of the brand's five-pound bags of unbleached all-purpose flour.

Check your pantry before baking a special Father's Day cake this weekend. King Arthur Flour Company announced a voluntary recall of their Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (five lb. bag) nationwide yesterday. The move was made after the company suspected a potential presence of E. coli in 14,218 cases that were distributed to retailers and distributors across the country.

No products sold through King Arthur Flour Company's website, their Baker's Catalogue, the Baker's Store in Norwich, Vermont, or their Baking School in Burlington, Washington, were included in the recall. Currently, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall, according to the statement made by King Arthur Flour. The Food and Drug Administration has yet to issue a formal recall of the product, but they did share the company's release on their own website as a public service.

King Arthur Flour Company released the six lot codes and three "Best Used By" dates matching the cases affected. "Best Used By" 12/07/19, LOT: L18A07C; "Best Used By" 12/08/19, LOTS: L18A08A, L18A08B; "Best Used By" 12/14/19 LOTS: L18A14A, L18A14B, L18A14C. This information can be found on the side panel of each bag of flour beneath the nutrition facts information. Nearly 114,000 bags of flour are included in the recall, according to USA Today.

Symptoms of E. coli include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, and a low fever, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms can appear within three to four days of consuming contaminated food. If you believe you have any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately.

Customers are urged to dispose of any products or baked goods containing the flour and return bags to the place of purchase for a credit or refund. If your flour was stored in a containerthoroughly wash the container to disinfect any residual bacteria.
