Sorry, gingerbread houses. We're all about these haunted cookie houses this fall.

It's a bit too early to start decking your halls for Christmas—well, depending on who you ask, of course—but Halloween will be here faster than you can say, “Trick or treat!” To get you in the mood for spooky season, and to tide you over until Christmastime tidings, you can now decorate your very own Halloween cookie house.

Target is selling a few different delicious dwellings, which are part of its Hyde & EEK! Boutique. You can choose between a haunted mansion for $9.99, or a moonlit cottage for $2.99, and add in the spooky graveyard, which goes for $9.99, for good measure. Each chocolate cookie option is "pre-baked and easy to assemble," and comes with icings, candies, and sprinkles.

Wilton, the purveyors of fine baking and cooking supplies, is also offering Halloween-themed homes. Each kit comes with prepared cookie pieces that make up the home, as well as a variety of candies and icings to adorn your abode. Kids will definitely enjoy decorating these daunting dwellings, especially the Ready-To-Decorate Halloween Chocolate Cookie House, $12.99 on Amazon, that features a chocolate cookie base and already comes pre-assembled. (Because we know how difficult it can be using frosting as a foundation.)

Besides being a blast to put together, these houses are super cheap. The least expensive is the version previously mentioned, and the priciest is the Pre- Baked Cookie House Kit, which goes for $29.28. The Build It Yourself Chocolate Cookie House Decorating Kit is available for $15.96 and the Haunted Gingerbread House Kit runs for $16.49. The decorations will make for a wicked addition to your Halloween mantel, or to even take center stage as your holiday centerpiece. They’d also be a good activity for a kid-friendly Halloween party. (But don’t worry adults, you’re more than welcome to get in on the fun too.) One person who bought the Pre-Baked Cookie House Kit had the genius idea of featuring the house on her son’s Halloween-themed birthday cake. “He had so much fun helping assemble and then decorating it,” they write in their five-star review.

After you’ve purchased one of these spooky sweets, head on over to the Wilton Instagram page for some decorating inspiration. This past October, the company uploaded a post of four jaw-dropping completed kits. The caption asks: “Which one of these haunted cookie houses would you make this season? A. Halloween Sparkle Cookie House, B. Frightfully Fun Cookie House, C. Cute Kids Halloween Cookie House, D. Kid-Easy Cookie House.” It’s tough to choose a favorite, and judging by the different votes left by hundreds of commenters, we’d say they’re all pretty impressive.

Of course, the only thing to go along with your haunted cookie house is a batch of Halloween cookies. And luckily, Wilton has a variety of cookie cutters to create your baked goods. A pack of 18 includes a variety of cut-outs, including a cat, a ghost, a witch’s hat, and a pumpkin. (Wilton Halloween Metal Cookie Cutter Set, $14.95 on Amazon).
