There are further stats to prove why "Baby Shark" is still stuck in your head after it debuted in 2016.

The so-catchy-it-hurts kids' tune just surpassed Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," the 2019 hit, as the most-viewed video of all time on YouTube. "Despacito" currently sits at 7.038 billion views on the platform, while "Baby Shark" hit 7.042.

A rep for YouTube was not immediately available to comment, but the numbers on the respective YouTube pages for both videos note the stats.

By 2019, the record-setting children's bop broke into the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 32, and the obsession continues. Nickelodeon is currently developing an animated kids' show on "Baby Shark."

The children's educational company Pinkfong created the 2-minute-long video, recorded by then-10-year-old singer Hope Segoine, complete with dance moves.
