Mangos are insanely delicious and versatile. But their giant pit can make chopping them challenging. These two methods will give you perfectly chopped mango every time, depending on whether you want long, thin slices or cubes.
For long, thin slices, cut off the top and bottom off the mango. Stand it upright and slice off the skin length-wise, rotating the mango. Slice off the outer thirds of the mango, avoiding the center pit. Slice and dice as you wish.
For cubes, stand the mango upright and slice off the outer thirds, avoiding the center pit. Cut a cross-hatch pattern into the mango flesh. Slice off the cubes.
No matter how you slice it mangos will add tropical flair to your salsas, smoothies, and fruit salads.
