Start with 3 pints of fresh blueberries and cook in a slow cooker for 30 minutes. To make the topping, combine sugar, flour, lemon zest, baking soda, butter, and buttermilk, and spread on top of the blueberries. Cook for two hours and let stand for at least 20 minutes before diving in (and adding some ice cream!).
