Chocolate Chili Poppers

Watch FamilyFun editor Joy Howard as she demonstrates how to create Chocolate Chili Poppers.

-Whether you're celebrating Cinco de Mayo or having an outdoor family gathering, our Chocolate Chili Poppers make the perfect party treat. So, I've warmed my Tootsie Rolls in a 200-degree oven, and for each chili, I'm gonna use 2 of the Tootsie Rolls and just knead them together. It's nice and soft and easy to mold that way, and then I will stick a pretzel stick in the top for my stem, 2 little more moulding, and you wanna set the finished ones on a piece of parchment to cool. After your molded chilis have called, you wanna melt about half of the bag of red candy melts in the microwave and then dip each of the individual peppers. Once you dip them in, you wanna make sure to tap off as much of the excess chocolate as you can and you can even just gently scrape the back a little bit, so that one you set them back down no the parchment. They don't make a big paddle. So, we let our red candy set. We actually put ours in the refrigerator to speed up the process a little bit, but you can leave yours at room temperature too. So, next I'm gonna add the stems. I just wanna break off the excess Pretzel and I'm going to dip it into the green candy melt tapping off the excess just as you did for the red candy melts and you can give it a little scrape, side, and we'll allow those to set up as well.
