Hi. I'm Kelsey Banfield, the Naptime Chef. I am going to show you my recipe for beef stew and I guarantee you're going to love it. This is a great recipe for feeding a crowd but you can also package them up and freeze it for later. We start our stew on the stovetop. Coat the bottom of a large skillet with one tablespoon of cooking oil. Have the meat dry and brown it in the skillet in small batches. Remove the brown pieces and set aside. Add the onions to the skillet and cook until lightly brown and soften. This takes about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for one minute. Pour in a quarter cup of the wine to degrease the pan and scrape up any brown bits in the bottom. You want to use a wooden spoon to keep them scratching the pan. Pour in the broth, bay leaves in time to the pan and bring the broth to a simmer. Then, add the salt and pepper. At this point, you had everything this look or with a bit more wine and set it to cook on low for 6 hours. About 4 hours in, add some chopped carrots and celery. When it's all done, just remove the bay leaves and time [unk], adjust the seasonings and you're ready to serve.
