If it's fall, it's time for a pumpkin spice latte...or three. This creamy caffeinated concoction is everything we love about the season. But we think this homemade version is even better than the one you'll find at your favorite coffee shop. Why? It's cheaper, for one thing (score!). Spending four bucks or so a day on a PSL really adds up. For another, we've added chocolate. Enough said.

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

2 Tbs. canned pumpkin puree

1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice, plus more for garnish

1/4 cup espresso or very strong coffee, hot

1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming.

2. Place the chocolate chips in a blender. Pour the hot milk over. Add the pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Blend until smooth, taking care when you blend hot liquids.

3. Pour the hot espresso into a mug. Pour the chocolate milk mixture over hte espresso. Garnish with more pumpkin pie spice.

The best part of making your own chocolate pumpkin spice latte? You don't have to leave the cozy confines of your house to indulge in this sweet treat, which means it's perfect for breakfast, a mid-morning pick-me-up, and an afternoon coffee break. Happy sipping!
