- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 1 pound bag refrigerated sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
- 3/4 cup beer
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
1. Heat the olive oil in a medium-size saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion; saute until softened, 3 to 5 minutes.
2. Stir in the sauerkraut, beer and caraway seeds. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Pour into a serving bowl and serve with hot dogs. Makes 8 servings (enough for 8 hot dogs).
