1. Cook the carrots in a large quantity of lightly salted boiling water in a large saucepan for 10 minutes. Drain well.
2. Heat butter in medium-size skillet over medium heat. Add sugar, stirring until smooth. Add carrots, nutmeg and salt; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until carrots are tender and coated with the glaze, about 8 to 12 minutes.
