Fresh Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 1/2 pounds plum tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint

Make It

1. Saute onion and garlic in oil and butter in large skillet until softened, 8 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt, zest, bay leaf. Cook, stirring occasionally, 20 to 25 minutes until thickened. Stir in mint; cook 5 minutes.
