Heritage Turkey with Cran-Orange Glaze

Ingredients

  • 12 - 13 pounds heritage turkey
  • 1 teaspoon each salt and pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 1 orange
  • 1 8 ounce can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme

Make It

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Prep turkey (see Note). Season all over and inside cavity with salt and pepper. Stuff with quartered onion and orange, 4 sprigs each fresh sage and thyme.

2. Roast on a rack in a roasting pan at 350 degrees for 2 3/4 to 3 hours.

3. Melt jellied cranberry sauce, orange marmalade, honey, lemon juice and fresh thyme in a pan. Brush on turkey during last hour of cooking.
