  • 1 14 1/2 - 15 ounce box ready-to-unroll pie crusts
  • 15 hard candies, such as Jolly Ranchers
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Make It

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Unroll pie crusts. Cut out cookies using 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters. (Do not re-roll scraps) Place the cutouts on the prepared sheets, spacing 1 inch apart. Using smaller cookie cutters, cut shapes from centers of cookies. Discard or bake small shapes separately.

3. Unwrap candies and place in a gallon-size freezer-weight plastic bag. Using a flat meat mallet, hammer, or heavy skillet, pound the candies to crush into small bits. Spread a thick layer of candy bits evenly into cutouts in cookies. Sprinkle cookie edges lightly with sugar.

4. Bake, rotating the positions of baking sheets halfway through, until cookies are just beginning to brown and candies are melted into a smooth layer, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool completely on baking sheets.
