Shrimp 'n' Sausage Skewers

Makes: about 5 dozen skewers. Prep: 15 minutes. Broil: 4 minutes.

Shrimp 'n' Sausage Skewers

  • 60 wooden skewers (6-inch)
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons spicy mustard
  • 2 pounds fully cooked saucage cut into slices (about 60)
  • 2 pounds large shrimp (about 60), shelled and cleaned

Make It

1. Soak skewers in warm water for about 30 minutes.

2. For dipping sauce, in small saucepan, heat jam, the water and mustard, stirring.

3. Heat oven to broil. Place 1 slice chorizo in center of a shrimp; slide skewer through both shrimp and chorizo. Place on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining skewers.

4. Broil 2 minutes per side, until shrimps are cooked. Serve with dipping sauce.
