- 1 can (26 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 serrano or jalapeno pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
1. Combine tomatoes, water, onion, pepper, cilantro, cumin and chili powder in large saucepan. Simmer 15 minutes or until vegetables are soft. Stir in salt. Puree in food processor.
