Red Lentil Puree

Add more flavor by stirring in 2 Tbs. of grated Parmesan cheese. Recipe from Real Baby Food by Jenna Helwig.

Red Lentil Puree
Yield: 1 1/2 cups


  • 1 cup red lentils, rinsed

Make It

1. Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil. Add the lentils and simmer until tender, stirring occasionally, 12 to 15 minutes. Using a ladle or measuring cup, spoon off and reserve 1/4 cup cooking water. Drain the lentils and cool slightly.

2. Transfer the lentils to a blender. Blend until you get the desired consistency, adding the reserved cooking water as needed.
