Penne With Tomato And Bacon

  • 1 1/4 cups chopped onion
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 can (35 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound penne OR: rigatoni

Make It

1. Saute onion and bacon in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, about 5 minutes or until onion is soft. Pour off excess fat.

2. Stir tomatoes into skillet; cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes or until the sauce is lightly thickened. Add black pepper to sauce during the last 5 minutes of the cooking.

3. Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain.

4. Toss together pasta and sauce in large serving bowl. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.
