The slow cooker is the perfect appliance for this French recipe that traditionally is cooked over low heat. Pork chops and kielbasa mingle with potatoes, apples, and sauerkraut for a savory compilation of flavors that occurs only after hours of cooking.
1. In a small bowl, mix together the Italian seasoning, salt and black pepper.
2. Coat a 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Layer potatoes, pork chops, kielbasa, apples and sauerkraut, seasoning each layer with a small amount of the seasoning mix. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning mix over the sauerkraut and pour the wine over the top.
3. Cook 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Stir in thawed peas, cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
4. Remove pork chops and cut each into thick slices against the grain. Stir back into the mixture and serve.
