Don't let the title stop you from baking this pie recipe. The "sawdust" is a mixture of graham cracker crumbs, pecans, and coconut mixed with egg whites and sugar that becomes a sweet and chewy filling when baked.
Heat oven to 325°F.
In a large bowl, mix egg whites, sugar, graham cracker crumbs, pecans and coconut. Stir until well combined.
Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 325°F for 38 minutes or until glossy and set. Remove from oven; cool completely on a rack. Once pie is cool, top with whipped cream, banana slices and a sprig of mint, if desired.
