Teresa Berry's Macaroni And Cheese

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 8 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (2 cups)
  • 1 cup 1 per cent milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
  • Paprika, for garnish

Make It

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 3-quart casserole.

2. Cook macaroni according to package directions; do not overcook. Drain.

3. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cheese over bottom of prepared casserole. Mix together macaroni, milk, 1 cup of the cheese, and the salt, pepper and sour cream in a bowl. Pour into casserole over the cheese. Scatter the remaining 1/2 cup cheese over the top. Sprinkle with paprika for color.

4. Bake in preheated 350 degree F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Makes 8 servings.
