Ravioli Crisps With Basil Dipping Sauce

Ravioli Crisps With Basil Dipping Sauce
Yield: 48 ravioli Prep 5 mins Cook 2 mins to 3 mins per batch

  • 4 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 16 ounce box (48-count) cheese ravioli, fresh or frozen, thawed and patted dry
  • 2 cups marinara sauce, homemade or bottled
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Make It

1. Fill medium-size saucepan with oil, making sure there is at least 6 inches between top of oil and top of pan. Heat oil over medium heat until oil registers 300 degrees F on deep-fry thermometer. Line baking sheet with paper toweling.

2. With metal slotted spoon, carefully add 8 ravioli at a time to hot oil to avoid overcrowding; fry for 1 to 2 minutes or until ravioli turn light brown. Adjust heat as needed to maintain temperature. With slotted spoon, remove ravioli to towel-lined sheet to drain.

3. Heat together marinara sauce and basil in small saucepan for 2 to 3 minutes or until hot. Pour into small serving dish. Serve alongside ravioli. Makes about 48 ravioli.

Make Ahead Tip

  • Ravioli can be fried up to 2 hours ahead. To serve, place on baking pan and reheat in a 400 degree F oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until hot.
