  • Cook elbow macaroni in boiling salted water until firm but tender; drain. Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar on bottom of greased 3-quart casserole dish. Combine 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar with cooked elbows, milk, salt and pepper and sour cream. Pour into prepared dish. Top with 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar. Bake in 350 degree F oven 30 to 35 minutes, until bubbly.
