Little Greek Meatballs with Yogurt Sauce and Cucumbers

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:
  • 1 pound lean ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
For the Yogurt Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 small garlic clove, mashed with pinch of salt
  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced

Make It

1. Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a shallow baking pan with foil.

2. In a large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients. Shape into 16 balls. Arrange in the prepared baking pan. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until done (160 degrees F).

3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine the yogurt, mint, lemon juice, honey, and garlic. Serve meatballs with cucumbers and yogurt sauce.
