Ingredients

  • 2 bottles (750 ml each) fruity, full-bodied wine, such as Zinfandel
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) port
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup blanched slivered almonds
  • 1/2 orange, sliced into half-moons
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf

Make It

1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Heat until steam rises from liquid, but don't bring to a simmer (it will cook off the alcohol). Cover and steep on lowest heat setting for 1 hour. Serve warm.
