- 2 bottles (750 ml each) fruity, full-bodied wine, such as Zinfandel
- 1 bottle (750 ml) port
- 1 cup brandy
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup blanched slivered almonds
- 1/2 orange, sliced into half-moons
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Heat until steam rises from liquid, but don't bring to a simmer (it will cook off the alcohol). Cover and steep on lowest heat setting for 1 hour. Serve warm.
