Measure and Stir:
  • Help your child crack the eggs into a large bowl; use pasteurized eggs such as Davidson's (safeeggs.com) or wash your child's hands afterwards. Remove any shells she got in the bowl and have her add the milk and salt. Give her a whisk and let her mix everything together.

Dunk the Bread:
  • Help your child dip both sides of the bread into the egg mixture. Hold it in the mixture a few seconds to let it soak in. Let any excess drip off and ask her to place the bread on a nearby tray. If you didn't use pasteurized eggs, wash her hands again.

Decorate with Blueberries:
  • Ask your child to push blueberries into the bread (wash hands again when done). Meanwhile, heat a large nonstick skillet on medium. Add half of the butter. Cook a few finished slices until bottoms are golden, 3 to 5 minutes. Flip; cook other side 3 to 5 minutes more. Repeat with remaining slices. Serve with syrup. Makes 8 slices.
