Easy Poached Pears

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 cans (15-1/2 ounces each) pear halves, 1 can drained
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Ice cream or pound cake

Make It

1. Melt butter in medium-size skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and maple syrup. Add pear halves and juice from 1 can. Cook 8 minutes.

2. Stir together cornstarch and water in small bowl until smooth; stir into pear mixture. Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened and clear, 3 to 4 minutes. Serve over ice cream or pound cake. Makes 6 servings.
