Double-Mint Drops
Yield: about 4-1/2 dozen Bake 350°F 10 mins to 12 mins


  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 ounces crushed hard peppermint candies (about 3 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 cup mint choclate chips, melted

Make It

1. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt on piece of waxed paper.

2. Beat together butter, margarine and sugar in bowl until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla until well-blended. Stir into flour mixture. Stir peppermint candies into dough. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate until well chilled.

3. For each cookie, drop rounded teaspoon of dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in 350 degrees F oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate. Let dipped cookies set on waxed paper.
