Heat oven to 375°F. Place chicken pieces, skin side up (or remove skin, if desired), in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Cover chicken with sliced mushrooms and sliced onion; set aside.
In a medium bowl, stir together cream of mushroom and garlic soup, white sauce, lemon juice and garlic. Pour over chicken and vegetables in dish and cover with foil. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes. Cool slightly before serving.
